You found a MM for 5k....cool? Im not sure what the purpose is about it? There's no price sets on surplus it's whatever someone is willing to pay. Collectors and especially long time collectors do the same thing. I've seen countless collectors selling at high end market prices and play the I know what I got card but seen the same ones who want to buy the same thing play it's only worth 50 bucks because blah blah blah......lol if people can sell MM for these prices and people are buying it good for them I should have bought dozens from MM 15 years ago then. Same thing with mosin nagants should have bought them by the crates when they were 68 dollars a peice when they were viewed as Russian junk.

Exactly. There have been a couple people who've come on here and tried hard to rah-rah MM. Not sure if this guy is a repeat offender? Anyway, yes we're all entitled to our opinions, and yes you may have a fantastic shooter.lol...

The problem is that Mitchells Mausers are frauds and they are trying to create value where it never existed in the first place. MM Mausers are not collectibles in the sense of any C&R value gun because they are fakes. If they are going to have any value, then they need to have their own new category which is second time rescrubbed Russian rescrubbed parts guns. I'd value a beat-up M-44 Mosin Nagant over any Mitchell's K98 any day of the week as an honest surplus firearm. Mitchell's = Trash and anyone selling a MM K98 for $5000 needs to put the words "Pimped parts rifle based off a Russian Captured K98" in the listing. Kinda like Orange County Choppers but in a bad sense. You found a MM for 5k....cool? Im not sure what the purpose is about it? There's no price sets on surplus it's whatever someone is willing to pay. I completely agree. I don't disagree with any of that. But a lot of yall have completely missed the point. The problem is that Mitchells Mausers are frauds and they are trying to create value where it never existed in the first place. What was the point because I took it as "If a guy can maximize his profit, then so be it."?I completely agree. I don't disagree with any of that. But a lot of yall have completely missed the point.
The point is who cares. It's a free market. I wouldn't buy a MM but clearly there's a market for it. If someone wants to sell it for X amount then so what. I silently read plenty of post on here it's hilarious to a point to where I dont care anymore to be involved with any community and it doesn't stop with any satisfaction. If someone post a MM it's automatically trash, if someone post a RC it's not pure and barely worthy, someone post a bolt Mismatch it's barely eligible to invest, someone post an original lets see how many flaws we can find. We all have different perspectives in what we consider to have value. I own several K98K's I have a high condition orginal K98K that I paid 6k for im completely satisfied with it and I don't care to share because people will blast it to detect a tiny flaw and say I was dumb but are the same ones that would never sell theirs for what they think it's worth. I have a SVT-38 I paid a ton of money for that they would say it's ridiculous but I have yet to see anyone have one. Clearly there's a market for Mitchell Mausers even though their pimp shined and there could be many factors why such as the name? No longer in business? Limited availability? Should be worth researching whats driving the factor instead of just assuming people are stupid....food for thoughtWhat was the point because I took it as "If a guy can maximize his profit, then so be it."?
I would agree with that logic if their rifles came with a warning sticker plates mounted on the buttstock that stated that it wasn't a real German rifle which they were trying to pass them off as. They were deliberately deceiving the ignorant masses thinking that they had just bought themselves a genuine WW2 rifle. That's fraud in my book. Those rifles had some collectability as genuine Cold-War Russian Capture rifles and they diminished the count of a finite supply of them in the name of what? A letter of provenance from a sheister who swindled people to make a buck. So now we get reminded of these abominations from time to time when someone brings one into the forum and expects us to just be "okay" with it because it is what it is and Mitchell was a dude just trying to make a buck. So was Bernie Madoff.......The point is who cares. It's a free market. I wouldn't buy a MM but clearly there's a market for it. If someone wants to sell it for X amount then so what. Hmm. For a "who cares" guy you sure seem to have a long list of things you're fuc%ed off over. The point is who cares. It's a free market. I wouldn't buy a MM but clearly there's a market for it.
