Very interesting. Never seen one numbered on the side of the rear foot like that. Also never seen the numbering on the nut. Thanks for sharing

Xavier , Very interesting Sauer LT Scope . This is also the only example I have seen with these characteristics .
I do have one question and I am really interested to know this specific thing about the Scope , what is the DKL Scope Serial #

Nice scope. Yes what is scope serial. Could you post a couple of side pictures of whole scope on both sides.

Thanks for the pictures. Would also appreciate seeing a bit more of the scope.

What in particular was restored on it?

I am trying to figure out what the complete story , is Scope original to rings , did the Bases get removed from the rifle . What exactly is the facts and story behind this , because there is pics of rings without a scope and then same rings with scope and there is also the rifle that matches the rings . Please clarify .

I found those pictures in the hard drive of my computer . I do not remember since I have them. May be more than 10 years ago ?
The dkl scope is not original to rings.
The bases, rings and scope of this k98 have been completely separeted for some reasons.
Interresting point is the waa 37 on the barrel….1940 LT sauer built ? 1940 LT Depot build ? Else ?
Please advice
Regards

I believe I recall seeing this Rifle before , do You recall if it was posted a WAF ?? . Do You have anymore pics of complete rifle or just that one pic .
If I recall correctly and its the Rifle I think it is it was a early Sauer LT .

Look at the locking lever on the rear foot. It has the little screw on the spring…. 1940 ?

Please find an other picture

Gentlemen, please excuse me jumping in, (because I lack the knowledge you fellows possess) but did anyone else notice a peculiarity in the front base? I believe I’ve read here on the K98k forum that the Argentines made their own turret bases, distinguished by through holes into the ring base socket above the side mounting screw holes, as shown in Xavier’s post #9 pic2, and also post #14 pic. Might someone have dismantled a low turret sniper they believed to be fake? I don’t know WHEN the Argies made their bases, but I can envision a couple of ways a set or few sets of bases may have passed between Argentina & Germany.

I have seen other German WW2 LT Front Bases that have holes into the base socket , the only difference between the German examples and Argentine examples is the German ones that I have seen all had a hole in only one side not both like the Argentine type .

The Front Base on my Late War BYF44 LT rifle has such a hole in its front base .

I wonder if the example Base has a hole in both or only one side maybe a photo of both sided of the Base can be posted by owner ???

Yes it would be interesting to see the other side. Are the holes, where present, round (drilled deliberately) or do they result from ‘break through’, where 2 cuts intersect & create an opening?

On post number 9, picture 2, showing the serial number and partial receiver ring, what is the vertical cog/AR symbol on the receiver?
