Hello all,

I'm new to this forum and have a question on a dow + scope. Does anyone know whether some of these scopes were produced with a fine cross hair reticle? I was under the impression only the 3-bar 'German' style reticle were on these scopes, but I found one with a cross hair. Just wondered if it was legit or not.

Thanks

Hello, I have a High Turret CAD with a cross hair reticle. I have not heard of a DOW with one. Do you have a serial number or any photos of the scope? Thanks.

Brian

There has been a few Dow Scopes reported that maybe WWII Period . I know the cross hair type reticule was used with Kahles Cad Scopes a number of them have been reported in 46XXX serial range . A friend and forum member by the name of Stan or Stana on avatar has recorded a few Dow Scopes with cross hair reticule . You can check with Stan maybe Yours will fall into same Serial Range . Best Regards

Ok thanks for your comments. I have attached some photos below. Your comments are welcome. Thanks

If I remember correctly, DOW+ scopes originally have had painted reticles. It could be that this reticle was partially away, so someone replaced it with a proper reticle which was at hand.

This particular scope looks familiar to me, wasn't this one just recently on eBay or any other platform?

Georg, If you remember ask Robert next time You chat with him. He has also mentioned Dow Scope with Cross Hair Reticule . I just don`t recall which variant , but I am believe it was for SSDC Rifle . Bet Regards .

Will do .. talked with him last week. He's in the process of bringing electricity to his (soon-to-be) workshop. Hooray!

That is good news since so many of us end up having to resort to replica parts at times, for example LSR base screws for me recently, among others. The other examples are just lousy. Go Robert.

DOW double claw without mounts is very very rare bird …. I am not sure A352 is serial number this scope . Very bad pictures on ebay .
