DOU 45

Here is a DOU45 that I have had for a couple years and thought some may enjoy seeing it. It is missing its abdeckblech, but from the look of it, it either never had one or lost it early on. I purchased it from a well known collector who sold his collection off years ago. Anyway I’ll let the pictures do the talking. Any comments or info is greatly appreciated.

Last ones. I enjoy collecting German rifles from all periods.

Appreciate it biggy. Always interesting to see the differences between pre war, mid and late war production. Stocks sure are different with chatter marks often seen.

Thank you I’m a big fan of dou 45 and not a lot of untouched examples like this to see. Love the as found condition. I think your right may have not had the plate? Odd the screw is there you would think it would be gone if the plate was lost. And the woods been exposed for a while by the looks of it. Great gun!!

thanks guys! It’s interesting to see the differences in the color of the stocks. Some got stain some didn’t?

I don’t think any late ones got stain, some just got more age patina over the years.

I can't help but believe that this fine rifle once had an abdeckblech and deserves to have it back. o_O :) (y)
I would almost hate to do it. It looks like it saw some action with the plate missing,. Certainly could be removed I guess.
The wood reminds me of my favorite Louisville Slugger bat I had growing up.

Will do sir! You have some amazing pieces (the e block especially!)

Agreed, great rifle! You forgot to highlight the sight sleeve serial! I always liked these on dou rifles.
