This one may come up for sale near me. The blue looks stunning although it immediately screams sanded stock. The owner denies any sanding. Looking for more experienced opinions.
looking @ photo # 3 from the left. Id say its probably orig. The sling well is dry and no signs of stain or any other issues. This one may come up for sale near me. Most likely not, Its marked Dot underneath so that means it was produced at Břunn or BRNO which is correct for the rifle. The wood is very slick to the touch, as you can see the 2 markings are very faint. Also one of the lock screws is not seated, probably not a big deal. Would this stock/handguard have serial # inside?
I agree, most likely a bleach stripping job from long ago.metal finish is correct. deep dark blue and a plumb barrel. Stock is possibly stripped bleached ? I have seen dot stocks very light most all in this range are stained and sealed. If the price is right Id buy it.
Does the Stock have an eagle H proof ?? I believe it should have one if I am not mistaken .
It appears that same photo shows sanding marksDave, looks like it does in IMG_6006.
