Correct rear sight leaf for byf44 l block ?

I bought this rear sight leaf to restore a byf44 l block that it's actually missing this part.Well , it was looking all fine until the moment that I discovered that the fulcrum is without the hole for a stopping pin as normally found with rear sight leafs . I know that this feature ( no pin hole) is normal for a byf42 production , but I have never seen this with a byf44. Any tip or observation will be appreciated , thanks!

a quick survey of close block letter byf44 rifles in the photo reference section suggests that the hole & pin should be there. perhaps an expert will offer some specific knowledge? not a bad looking part as a placeholder, I’d use it til I found another, if that is how this turns out. the presence of the ‘wr/rw’ mark suggests a test part without the hole, deliberately perhaps? I’d dig out my ‘books’, but have chores to do today.

On my l block there is a hole for the pin. And no marking's on it at all. Totally blank. That's what I would put on there.

I wrote that my rifle was missing the sight leaf , but it's not correct : the part is present but it's heavily pitted so I want to change it , but the markings are absolutely the same : 135 and RW .The only difference it' s the missing hole.

there was only a short time period when they stopping drilling not using the pin. Then went back to it. I imagine rear sites were popping off.. But, its certainly correct enough to stick on a restored L block.

At one time I was collecting data and trying to put together an accurate range when the pin hole was omitted but I lost interest and have now misplaced the data I collected. Anyway, as mentioned the pin was only omitted for a period around the 42 time frame for MO, not sure about other makers.
