special features

Hello Brian,
I have no BYF LT letter i. No pictures unfortunately. I was talking with an other collector about BYF LT a few days ago. He told me that there is no bunny proof on byf LT letter i or short key safety (not always). I was a bit surprised and I decided to put a topic on the forum.
I think there are owners of LT letter i on the forum and I would like to know their opinion about those features.
best regards
Xavier

I have not heard of a late 43 Low Turret with High Turret characteristics like bunny proof. I have seen short safety on a Low Turret in 43 K block. I have heard of a possible sniper with LT mounts made in late 44. Possibly reclaimed bases. I have not seen it yet. I am going to see it maybe at the end of the month. What is the barrel date of yours? However, if you are not willing to post photos I do not think you will get any real concrete answers. Just curious as to why you will not post photos of your rifle.

Mauser LOW TURRET of 43

Hello Brian,
I am talking only about LOW TURRET i letter of 1943, not about 44.
If I do not put any pictures, it is because I have no low turret with i letter suffix. just a discussion with one of my friend.
I do not know if you noticed that, but I put a lot of pictures of my stuff on the forum. Not a problem for me.
best regards, thanks for your advice,
Xavier

OK. I thought it was yours. I just wanted to see pictures, because there are not many Low Turret available to look at. Thanks.

There is some discussion on this issue on page 3 of this forum. I would not expect a 43 byf LT to have a bunny stamp.

My 23000i LT does not have a bunny stamp. Pictures can be found on page six.

I have never seen a legit LT with a key safety but I have seen too few. My i block has a mismatched bolt but suspect that it has a short safety in its original bolt.

The LT`s I have had the good fortune to see although as most here I would suspect it has not been a rest number of them . For myself over the past 16 yrs in total I would estimate tops 20 LT`s low end 15 LT`s and out of these none had the so called Bunny Proof which is actually an R Proof , but all of these LT`s I have seen in hand none were Late 1943 the ones I have seen were Early to Mid 1943 . I can`t say on the Late 1943 LT`s if they do or do not have this R Proof or any other letter Proof that is in most cases found on HT`s . Best Regards .

Hello,

there are pre g (G) block rifles for LT d (D), e (E), g (G), h (H), i (I) and k (K) blocks.

scopes used were BMJ, AJACK, and BLC scopes.

safeties seem to be shortened mid i (I) block couple early ones are standard.

I defer to the more educated on this matter as I am new to snipers compared to others. my info collected is quite small.
