BYF 45, Kriegsmodell Walnut Stock

I picked this up not too long ago, but I have never had a Kriegsmodell in my collection. The sling is not original to the rifle, I picked it up a few weeks ago.

Opinions welcome.

Thanks

That is a great looking rifle. Love the stock. Not sure what those screws are in the bands though. Thanks for sharing.

P.S. great sling!

I like it. Just need to replace those band screws with some correct ones and it would be really nice. The stock is pretty spectacular. Nice chatter, grain and the knots are pretty neat as well.

Another really nice rifle. I love the wood on this one as someone else mentioned. You've got your hands on some winners lately.

great example.... interesting as it has no side proof on the stock. Just one at the wrist.

this example being all phosphate makes it really special. Not all look like this only very few. I have seen Ar44 marked no letter blocks all phosphate as well.

the rifle has been apart and bands removed probably to ship home ? screws were surely lost and replaced later ???? who's to say as it looks very in-touched.

Sling is as nice as youll ever find..

Congrats !!

You need to look again. There is a side proof.

geez... your right.. damn near invisible. Sorry for the confusion. they blend right in on raw wood.

one of the best in walnut Ive ever seen...

Very nice rifle! I agree with losing the vz spanner screws. A certain airborne nudist can set you up. The mineral stripe in that stock is fantastic.

Awesome Rifle , love that walnut stock .But the other thing I like is that Sling too .

Edited 9/24/2023, additional photos. The band screw were replaced

I wonder what the two notches are on the front action screw? I’ve seen screws like that before but with bigger notches, I suppose they are for staking but I don’t think they are German.

Suppose a dot/dou kriegs gave up it's action and band screws?
