byf 41 Luftwaffe

Here is another recent pick up from gunboner that a buddy pointed out to me. I over paid for it but I have wanted a byf41 Luftwaffe for a long time. This rifle had all the features I wanted: Luftwaffe, byf 41, cupped plate and walnut. All matching except the cleaning rod (even the band spring matches). Sling is 41 dated also. I just love the walnut stock

Well this has been posted on here before but I thought I'd repost it again but go into a bit more detail. Hope you guys don't mind. Everything is WR, e/655 or both, as would be expected, except the front sight base which appears to be WaA103?

That's a gorgeous walnut stock, all around beautiful rifle. I really need to get around to getting a matching pre war or early war K98k with a walnut stock.

Nothing wrong with paying well for one you really want. The reality, prices of good stuff rarely backs up. I think many here saw/ watched this one on GB and love the rifle...

I can remember maybe 5 years ago Bruce sold a similar rifle in laminate (nicer condition) for $2500 here. I thought at the time, "pshh, that's way too expensive." Boy was I wrong. Lol.

A wise man or wise guy, not sure which, named Mike once told me:

"If you think you overpaid, wait a couple years and you'll find you got a good deal."

Something along those lines anyway.
