8mm Mauser Ammo

Hey guys,
Just bought my first K98, it’s a bnz41. I’m looking online to try and find some ammo for it and can’t find jack ****. I’m well aware of the shortage and the excuse I get from every supply shop I go to, “ well COVID…”. Does anyone know where there’s any in stock?
I would prefer American made, but am open at this point to looking at all my options. Also, I am curious to know what brand everyone else uses..
Thanks

I got some 8mm Mauser if you're looking for some. I got berden primed non-corrosive, that Russian stuff that Ventura munitions sold. And I got PPU match grade, I can dm you my armslist listing.

PPU ammunition is good ammunition it's just underpowered and under loaded. Main reason is that same type of ammunition is shot in the old commission 88 rifles that's why American made 8mm and PPU is loaded with lighter loads. It still shoots great and it's fully reloadable but you'll notice some differences in your accuracy. Probably some of the best surplus ammunition I found out there is the Portuguese 8mmm that was made in the 70s. Non-corrosive ammunition too.

Toolman,
I haven't shot any PPU in 8mm, but I've had pretty good luck with their ammo in many other calibers. I've heard that 8mm is modestly loaded in the US, and it certainly makes sense why, but that doesn't mean your rifle won't like it. It's not cheap these days, but either PPU or S&B are good options in my opinion.
Obviously, if you want to shoot long distances and want to use the numbers on the sights, then you want ammo that matches military ammo. I only shoot mine at 200 yards, so that's not important to me at all.
I load a PPU 175gr BTHP to a very modest 2300fps with IMR-4064, and I find that it's very accurate and doesn't beat me up so bad. I have to set my rear sight to 300m to hit POA, but they go where I point them.

Yes, had to set my K98k sights at 300 meters to get on target at 100 yards with the PPU stuff. Was right about on at 100 in my Gew 98 though!
