Was wondering when Berlin-Lubecker changed from 237 to duv in 1940 , was it during a certain month, serial number block or a specific suffix block ? Thanks for any help .

According to Vaughn's study the high 237 code is 8471 h, the low duv code is 2010 i...

That narrows it down pretty well, and I am guessing there will be some overlap during the switch....

Tks pzjgr, that's about as narrow as one could ask for. I believe any narrower is going to have exceptions and anamolies.

Thanks for the feed back guys , great info ! Would the suffix denote the month of mfg. this early in the war ? I know MO did it in 44 but not sure if this was done by the other contractors ? HB , good to be back and thanks .

Not for any maker I know of other then MO Tater. Best you can do is get the high known serial and extrapolate by production number as to generally where a suffix place that rifle's production.

Hello,

so far i have narrowed it down to exactly 203 rifles just have not updated the old thread.

237 1940 #I1647
DUV 1940 #I1850

NOT THATS NARROW : ) & no overlap yet, clean cut thus far

later
