Hello,

I recently picked up this 1933 banner. I am hoping to find out more information about. its all matching minus the front band. Also the stock has been sanded and redone at some point. the stock hasnt been cut down in any way also. There are no import marks and it has the original pre-war band and bayonet stud taken off. A buddy of mine believes this was a late war mod for militia use. The bore is really nice also and it comes with an original sling. Which I am in the process of cleaning/oiling as it had mold starting to grow on it. I am hoping to find the approximate value or trade it for a like condition 1938-1940 dated german mauser.

That's a nice one. Pitty the stock was sanded and the missing metalwork up front is a bummer, but having the bolt match is huge. I was happy to get one where the mismatched bolt was off another banner K - it's not uncommon to find bolt m/m's that just have a regular K98k bolt riding in there. The sanding also isn't terrible, you can at least read the DRP cartouche.

What do you think the value is on this? Everything matches except the front band and stud missing?
