1917 simson with EWB brand, is this a proverbial hens tooth?

You might have to do some cropping to shrink the size a bit. I’ve had to do that before with some of my pictures.

When you tap attach files, there should be an option to resize them. If not, message me and I’ll shoot you my number. You can text them to me then I’ll post them.

Here are the photos.

The bolt numbers don't match but looks to be the same timeframe. Bolt numbers themselves are all matching, but not to the serial number on the receiver and barrel

Unfortunately, someone faked the stock SN. The font is all wrong. And the stock vs metal condition is not aligned at all. I'm guessing someone completed a barreled action with the stock and got a little devious. That stock serial number looks like it might have been one of the ones from a large auction in Alabama a couple years ago many of the rifles had renumbered parts.

You guys really have your facts in order! Unbelievable, I purchased it from someone that lives in Alabama, good thing I only paid 200 for it! Any suggestions on the future of it, I'm not going to pass it off as what it's not. Any suggestions?

At that price point I wouldn't be too upset, sounds like you at least have a nice shooter. It's worth $200 bucks any day and twice that on Sunday. Lol.

It irritates me that it's not what it portrays, I really don't want to keep it around, maybe I'll part it out. I'm sure a correct stock is a wild goose chase. So I guess my options are limited

I'd keep it as is, then keep checking eBay and other avenues for a potential replacement it will always be a mismatched stock unless you get really lucky, but at least it won't have the fake number on it.

Any thoughts or consideration on the EWB brand? Maybe I'll just get rid of the fake # and go from there, like I said, it irritates the hell out of me!

Is it possible that it was re- stocked over there and the sn was just added over here? All the screws have the same sn as the barrel & receiver? Just grasping at straws, thanks
