1912 Erfurt MG Unit marked

I have a chance to purchase a matching unmodified 1912 Erfurt luger. The luger has mg unit markings on the front grip strap. Very nice bore with overall 85% bluing. The magazine is Erfurt, but has a unmarked wood bottom. What is a good price? Sorry no picture, not in my possession

Thanks,
James

No pics it will just be a guess, Erfurt pre-war are uncommon, unit mark will add value, everything on it should be proofed at least and most parts numbered to match, grips inside should be proofed and numbered, grip screws should be proofed, etc.. I would say safe is $18-2000, over $2K I would have to see pictures, they easily go well over $2k but more detail needed. Condition greatly adds value or decreases it, luger collectors tend to be a fussy lot on condition.

Good luck, and post pics if you get it, they can become addictive.

I agree with everything Nick said. Unit marked lugers carry a premium, and MG is one of the more popular ones people want.

Looks good from the pics, everything seems to be matching and proofs are where they should be showing up. Certainly has seen some use but seems honest, personal opinion I would be in the low $2k’s as estimated value, regiment had an interesting wartime history as a bonus.

Good luck!

I doubt it's an Erfurt thing, but my '17 Erufurt is MG. 122nd Wurttemburg Landwehr.
