I was watching this one but was shocked by the final price. Admittedly I have no idea what they usually go for….

Incredible. Polish collectors appear to go to great lengths to get the items they want. I’ll go ahead and cross that variant off the old to get list.

It is estimated that around 1000 of those were produced. That’s a lot less than rarest pre war 1937 Eagles which quantity was around 3500. Very scarce variant.

I would guess significantly less than 1000 based on observation. I think they are observed in the K1440 to K2400 range. That block has several different types in it, so not all BNZ marked. I’m thinking hundreds….maybe? There are really not that many known, maybe a dozen or two? Interested to hear more from those that track them.

They probably didn’t make it that far from Molln where they were assembled.

Looks like the one I found in a pawnshop in MS in about 1994. It was in a display case concealed by the open lid of a fireable model cannon box. I could just see the grips so I knew what it was. It was unissued condition, age oxidation only. When the guy pulled it out of the case I saw that it was a bnz and fortunately knew what it was because I had bought the Jan Still Axis Pistols book about a month before. The price on it was $450 and I negotiated it down to $400 out the door. I traded it to another collector buddy of mine who had to have it for a G.41 duv 43 and a byf 44 Zf.41. I sold the G.41 and parlayed the byf 44 Zf.41 into a trade for the current matching ar 43 Zf.41/1 I currently have. Had I not bought the Still book I wouldn't have known and wouldn't have bought it as $400 was about retail for a late Radom P.35. Always buy good reference.

Only ever owned one "bnz" marked P35(p). Bought it and five other P35's out of a Shotgun News advert. T'was $500.00 back in 1976. Seller was Will Hoetzel and he had basically acquired one pistol in every serial letter bloc (both first & second series) plus unusual variants as well. Most of them are pictured in Bob Berger's The Radom VIS Pistol Book.
