10" rod

You have a valuable short rod there that appears to have come off an JP Sauer rifle.
Generally the short rods sell for 2-4X the price of a 12" rod.

Also the use of short rods ended in 1940 with some implementation of the longer 12" rods in 1939.

I am sure that one of the Sauer collectors on this forum would want this.

IMO, the price of short rods is inflated and dealers ask way to much for them (sometimes exceeding 125 or more).
A fair price on the forum would be $80-100.

Great. thank You, I will post it on here for a member to buy or I would take a trade for the correct 12" Rod for my DOU 43.

I just bought an unmarked one for my '39 Sauer for $112 shipped, passing on one on GB for $137 + tax + shipping. My SN would by 93, not 70, but a Sauer rod would be a nice match for me.

I have an indentical rod that I acquired with a byf 42 98K that came out of a local estate. There seems little doubt that the rod has been with the rifle since war's end. It's also 73 marked. Same maker? I had thought it to be serial numbered to the weapon (6137l) by someone with dyslexia. The rod is about 12 1/2" in length.
