WMO 1917 "N Block Sniper" Project

Awesome and rare rifle Sam. Sam do you care if I catalogue this rifle for my database? I mainly, ask because this rifle was used with the II Pascha Expedition. "A second Pascha Expedition also known as the Asia Corps ("Asienkorps") was formed at Neu-Hammer in July 1917 under the command of...

    Experimental Mauser 1902 Gew98 Serial 10 (or 1?) in 6mm Mauser Caliber

That is absolutely a stunning rifle. I always love looking at your photos because your photography is amazing. I always find experimental and test rifles fascinating to look. Makes you kind of wonder if the imperial ordinance department looked at this rifle. The rear sight is kind of interesting...

    1874 FV Dreyse/Soemmerda Gewehr 71 #8070 (née #7481)

Awesome pickup Chris. Are we going to see a group photo of all the M1871 makers together?

Hi can anyone help me identify the exect mark of this mauser. Would appriciate it. Thanks in advance.

Not the greatest photo, but after zooming in and looking at the action. I'm just going off the rifle having a thumb cut out on side of the action. I really feel like the rifle is a customized Ottoman 1893. At the same time it looks like there's a magazine cut off button by the bolt. So it could...

    Fake? Camo Gewehr 98

Not trying to be mean Jordan but that photo maybe well known now, but it wasn't back then. The camouflage on the Gewehr 98 is called Lozenge camouflage. The Germans called Buntfarbenaufdruck (multi-colored print). It started being used in late 1916. The camouflage on the Springfield 03 is called...

    Second Colonial Gew 98

Going off of the leather ammo belt. That photo was probably taken in German South-West Africa. That is the third pattern ammo belt. German South-West Africa was the only German colony that had a special standard issue leather ammo belt. The guy sitting down has a third pattern ammo belt. The...

1914/16 Early Spandau Sterngewehr 8655 (no suffix)

Ha I was watching this one on GunBroker. I am happy you got this one Chris. It's a great looking Spandau sterngewehr.

    Second Colonial Gew 98

Not many hoops to go through. The biggest thing about importing it will test your patients. I have only imported items from South Africa. Like Chris said, every country is different. I use Simpson limited as my importer. You can call them or you can email about the importing process works.

    Second Colonial Gew 98

Thank you. I'm thinking about making an a guide or an outline for the rifle. I wrote an article about the rifle couple years ago and I have updated that sense. The majority of all the colonial Gew 98 are in south africa. I would love to examine more just to learn more about them. I will say...

    11mm Mauser Schutztruppe Police Rifle

I am not exactly sure what company the first photo is. It does look like they are in German South-West Africa. They could the Witbooi Nama Trooper company. After the Herero Rebellion African units in German South-West Africa were Disbanded and outlaw to serve with Schutztruppe. Africans could...

    D.V.E. Nrs 257a and 278 (1912 Gewehr and Karabiner 98 Manuals)

"Nothing really new or Earth shattering?" Come on Chris these are fantastic fines. These manuals are in great condition. Sometimes finding documentation is more exciting than finding a rifle or pistol.

Some of you pre German Empire guys might find this interesting.

It's a mixture between the Colt and Luger forums. I mostly collect data on unit marked holsters. I know most of holsters are KM marked. If they are missing or didn't receive a issued or inventory number. I don't Catalog it. I probably would have gone insane a long time ago if I did that.

Some of you pre German Empire guys might find this interesting.

I got a little excited when I opened that link. Then I realized I have cataloged that holster already. Colt 1851 In 1855 England, France and the Ottoman Empire were fighting Russia in the Crimean War. While not a belligerent, Prussia had closed its borders to all arms shipment to Russia. With...

    Second Colonial Gew 98

Well my shipment of four rifles and one pistol from South Africa finally came in August, which included my second Schutztruppegewehr 98. I was and still am excited to add this to my ever growing Schutztruppe collection. I still need to clean it up. I've been just so busy since it came. I'm...

Mauser Oberndorf 71/84 8mm rimmed prototype rifle

This rifle is mentioned in Storz 88 and 91 book on pages 36 to 39. On page 39 it does say a batch of rifles was sent to the Bavarian Military School of Musketry. This is just a shot in the dark. Does that proof mark come from the Bavarian Military School of Musketry?

Suhl Consortium M1849 Marinegewehr / City of Philadelphia

Awesome rifled musket Chris. Great history on the rifle also. This is about the third one I have seen part of the City of Philadelphia purchase. Does this rifled musket have a unit mark or has it been removed?

RESEARCH PROJECT - Mod. 71 and Mod. 71/84 - Craig Brown

I just got this 1871 Jägerbüchse here recently. It is definitely seen better days. The manufacturer mark is there but it's extremely light mostly damaged from all the rust and pitting. Here is the rifles information with three photos. 1875-1876/ÖWG/7052E/E.4.119.
