    Carcano Contract Rifle?

Inspection on the wrist is too weak to tell if its legit or not, at least from these photos. Depot marked Carcano are not uncommon, but I don't recall ever seeing a marked M91 before, though I am sure they exist.

    Zundapp helmet ....

It belonged to the Werkluftschutz at the factory. Paper tag reads "EIGENTUM Werkluftschutz, gemais Luftschutzgesetz" (Property of Factory Air Protection, in accordance with the Air Protection Law).

WW1 Dutch Hembrug 1916 Carbine Captured?

Well the German markings are original, and it was reworked by Magdeburg. It appears to be a KNIL Constabulary stock, but I don't know they were making this model in 1916. It obviously could not have been delivered to the KNIL if the Germans ended up with it. Maybe a late 30s rework that was not...

S/42G C stamp on receiver more info?

Yeah, its not uncommon to see small numbers stamped on the receiver like this on the Russian reworked guns. Its probably not a 'C' but a partially stamped 0 or O. Some sort of inspection from the rework.

    Carcano M41

Ingolstadt didn't mod these Carcanos at all. Thorn seems to have blued and maybe numbered bolts. Very late Italian production guns sometimes have front sight bases cut for a hood.

    Carcano M41

It looks ok to me, but I would pass on this one. Metal is in rough shape and stock is coated in something. You can do much better.

    Possible SS identified K98

Almost certainly not. I think Stephan's idea is interesting, but I seriously doubt this is some sort of economic priority number. Wouldn't make much sense to mark an individual rifle or stock. This is just graffiti, period or not.

DH Luger Pistols: Science vs. Academia

"A new scientific truth does not triumph by convincing its opponents and making them see the light, but rather because its opponents eventually die..." -Max Planck The same is true in collecting.

K98b - Looking for help identifying this rifle

Stock could be post-war Yugo replacement. A closeup of the roundel stamped on the side would help. Might be BTK or something similar.

Limited reprint of Volume III - Kriegsmodell- now in production.

I'll buy one, if only to get the numbers up.

    interesting German modified Vz24

The disc is marked Su4, for inspection by HZa Spandau. The depot made the part as a spare, but that doesn't necessarily mean Spandau did the install. Spandau made spare parts were provided to lots of other depots.

    HK 1936 17521

I think the point is that "H. Kreighoff Waffenfabrik" and "Sempert & Kreighoff" were the same company. S&K was just the brand name Krieghoff stamped on its sporting guns. Same company, same factory, same people, though its possible they may have remained legally distinct for tax purposes or...

Erfurt P08 with some "unusual" markings

From the E/O inspections on all the pressure bearing parts, it looks like it cycled through a Navy Depot, probably Kiel, for repairs at some point, but its hard to tell what was done from these photos.

    HK 1936 17521

Did you look at the export ST.61/MG15s that were made by Rheinmetall? It has BAL1 acceptance for the receiver manufacture inspection, but no additional assembly acceptance since it was made for export. I suspect HK made some of these also since HK made parts show up in the guns that were...

    HK 1936 17521

The gun did not fail twice. The idea that the star is some sort of reject stamp was made up by collectors in the 1960s. Not impossible, but there is no evidence of this. Had it failed BAL acceptance, it would have been marked with a Fehlerstempel to ensure it was segregated from acceptable...

Another SOS find. BCD45 all matching

Clearly, the seller isn't very bright. I got to see this one at the show, and it looks even better in person.

SOS Find BCD 41 with ship home label

Found his obituary, and it looks like he died in May 1981 (no day listed). Born on June 6 (D Day) in 1914. A library in Maine posted a digital copy of the official history of the regiment, published just after the war. The 329th landed in Normandy on 23 June 1944. It includes lists of soldiers...
