Yes, it is cut for a hood.

Byf 41 No, it is stamped E/655 twice on the underside of the bolt.

Thank you Mike. This is my one and only K98 so I had to make it good. I collect 1911s and German pistols for the most part. Of course, like most collectors I am always on the look out for good deals and this one certainly fit the bill.
