P.38 byf44 d blocks is where you see some small unique features on the dual tones. Some are all phosphate, some are lighter color phosphate dual tones (like one of mine is). Off the top of my head, I can’t recall some of the other little things you can see in this letter block from time to time.

Thanks. Yes they are! I intended to only get one because that one had capture papers to it. Next thing I knew, I have 5. The 1945 ones are the really interesting ones to me. Late war, and these still kept high a polish finish with some errors, which is cool.

The “more correct” magazine would be the crude non-marked mag. Lots of machine marks, both mag body and floor plate blued. WaA103 mags were earlier Tangent sight pistols. Not sure where the “square 7” stamp falls. My source is FN Browning Pistols, Anthony Vanderlinden, pages 323-325.

I would say so. In that serial number range, you’re starting to get to the late guns.
