Reloading a case of old corrosive ammo.

Yes they are Berdan primed. I bought some 8mm factory and kept the shells. So far, so good. The performance of my reloads are excellent. Thanks for all the comments and information everyone.

Reloading a case of old corrosive ammo.

Thanks for all the comments. Varget powder is like $400 for 8 pounds. 900 (one case of corrosive yugo) yields 900*42/7000 = 5.4, so it's like $250 worth of powder in there. Plus 900 bullets. Reloading supplies have exploded (pun intended) in price. 900 bullets is worth about $400! Of course, I...

Reloading a case of old corrosive ammo.

I have thousands of corrosive rounds for my K98. It's some kind of yugo surplus. Since the rounds need multiple hits to fire and because of corrosion, I've been pulling the bullets to use in new loads. I'm wondering: Could I use the powder too? The powder is not the corrosive part, right...

Bolt doesn't grab cartridge when barrel pointed downwards ....

Happy to report that the new extractor made the rifle function flawlessy at the range Saturday! On a fun note the guy next to me had a G43. Thanks everyone for your suggestions.

Bolt doesn't grab cartridge when barrel pointed downwards ....

I put in a new extractor and the situation is greatly improved. I'm going to check the follower spring because it seems weak to me. Snapcaps work almost 100%, but short nosed real ammo the first round caught the edge of the breech and all the rounds in the magazine became jumbled. I'm not sure...

Bolt doesn't grab cartridge when barrel pointed downwards ....

This is exactly what's happening. The bolt dislodges it from the magazine but before the extractor can grab it falls forward. I'm going to try adjusting/replacing the extractor.

Bolt doesn't grab cartridge when barrel pointed downwards ....

Thanks. I'll try that. Also I have a new extractor on order just in case.

Bolt doesn't grab cartridge when barrel pointed downwards ....

I have a Yugo M48. If I charge when the barrel is pointed downward, the cartridge slides out of the magazine when hit by the bolt. Gravity pulls the cartridge ahead of the bolt and the extractor fails to engage. If the rifle is level or pointing up, the bolt grabs the cartridge correctly. So...
