Yesterday I saw this interesting image on a FB weapon's group titled "Assault Bicycle", lol, and noted the gewehr. It appears a sling parade loop is attached to the rear sling attachment hole.

Here's a nice one, an all matching 1916 Danzig Gew98. It's got a walnut stock that still retains earlier features, i.e., unit marking disc & no upper stock finger grooves. The firing pin tip has been snipped. This one needs a new caretaker too. PM me for details.

Here's a looker, a 1917 DWM "c" block Gew98 with a stock that retains a unit disc & no forearm finger grooves. Mostly matching with an armorer's cockpiece, m/m handguard (#5619), & m/m rear sight leaf & slide (#19.) The outside end of barrel exhibits some pitting, & firing pin tip is snipped...

This one is a very used, been there warhorse. I pulled it out last week & found some pics, found a lot more this morning. Originally regimental marked to a Garde Train unit (G.T.F.3.19), on the buttplate, the muzzle cover is unit marked 3.87, with an original sling unit marked on the frosch...

Here's my only 98k, a lonely sentinel in a safe of Gew98's. I got this from a coworker many years ago. He'd got it (many years earlier) from a local estate auction, said there was a scoped one there but he didn't have the money for both. The front sight, bayo lug, follower, buttplate, & action...

Here's a rarer one, all matching, combat warhorse. The knurled push button knobs for the rear sight are un-numbered on the bottom, I'll assume a manufacturing error. Most don't know they were serial #'d.

I'm sure many followed it (ended yesterday), another of Larry R's Gew98's posted on GB. I was surprised it didn't pull more $$$. I noted that our PrayingMantis took a stab at it.

I've not posted any G98's in a while but found those old pics. This is an depot/arsenal rework but still has a lot of m/m parts. Unique in that it has a m/m stock but the stock id disk is naval but no other naval markings are on the stock. The disk has been in that stock for a long time. Sorry...

I see Reisel's got another Gew98 for sale online, except this one's had a KM (naval) disk added, not original to the rifle. Someone did a poor job removing the old disk. Also, the disk is upside down. It's already up there in price & hopefully no one here falls for the Kaiserliche Marine...

Back from the SOS, I saw a couple of bolt m/m Kar88's, one bolt m/m Gew91, about 4 K98a's, one being a very nice '18 Erfurt. For Gew98's, about 8 total. There was a '15 Simson, bolt & handguard m/m, no rod, a lot of rust scale....serial # 2599. The owner was real proud of it, had it marked...
