    Akah scabbard cover

I hadn’t seen one of these before so I had to buy it. It was listed as a vet modified piece, but it’s clearly an Akah product. I looked through a late 1930’s catalog of theirs to no avail, perhaps someone has a wartime catalog to check?

    MG-08 can?

I can’t make sense of the lower beveled corner and notch in it. Does anyone know of anything more specific about the application for this one?

    1916 JP Sauer

Here’s my latest military pick up, happy to add this one to the collection. Duffle cut with a matched rod.

    I’m stumped, cleaning rod for?

I’ve been digging around trying, and I just can’t figure out what rod this is for, it’s smaller diameter than the vz24 rod shown on the left/lower, and longer at 15-9/16.

    Simson 625 sling

I bought this sling and the tip is far too wide to fit the rifle’s swivel. I presume it’s probably taken a set from moisture and expansion sitting on the buckle stud but I’m not positive now, it’s over 3/16 too wide. Are there any other rifles that possibly used a sling like this or am I...

    A pair of Vz-24s

Just a few pictures but I was happy to grab a couple of bolt m/m vz24’s at Tulsa. This one only has a stock plug unless I’ve overlooked something.

    Armorer sight base

Just thought this kg69 sight base was neat, hadn’t seen one before. Picked it up in a parts bin in Tulsa.

    JGA Büscher Laminate stock

I’ve gone through the books and I’m trying to determine a timeline on these rifles. I bought one with a serial around 3k and can’t quite decipher from what I’ve been reading as to approximately when it might have been made. Also for those of you that may have had one of these apart at some...

    Dot43 pick up

This one popped up a couple of weeks back and I had to snag it, it’s my first walnut Brünn 98k actually. Just a handful of lackluster sunny pictures, but it sure was nice out today.

    Mm410b blued bolt?

Picked up a parts rifle last week with a m/m bolt, and noticed the bolt was blued? It looks entirely original, even wear etc. Did any range of 410b’s show up with blued bolts or perhaps it is from a different MS series rifle?

    Mauser internal inspection?

This is a small bore, but I’ve seen similar type inspections/markings on other Oberndorf commercial rifles from this time period. I wanted to gather opinions from those who study Oberndorf closer. I don’t know if it could be an internal quality marking, an outside authority, or something else...

    Erma Wenzel Karabiner

I decided to swing by a small local show, and one of these came home with me. I wasn’t aware of what model it was at the time, the “Wenzel“ aspect didn’t ring a bell for what I was thinking it could be. I only have a couple of small bore books to check, and the information I can find has been...

    Dou42

This popped up local, first 98k I’ve bought in a while, just can’t quit even when you want to.. It’s missing the hood, but the sling looks to be original, it’s very set in place and quite dusty under the frosch, and won’t be coming off. The bolt is a neat reclaim, which is common from Brünn.

    33/40 opinions

I picked this one up last year local and my only hang up buying it were the screw stakes. In the end I decided I could live with it, but wasn’t sure what to think. I wondered if it perhaps saw postwar use somewhere, or perhaps the additional stakes are wartime somehow. Has anyone seen a 33/40...

    1944 Oberndorf NLB zf41

This one popped up last week, and it has some pretty cool attributes. The stock is a rejected walnut piece with a secondary inspection at the wrist. The HG is e/c10 which seems to be common in this range, but it’s elm. The stock also has a small “2” just right of the rear bridge, I presume...

    Zielsechs caps

I picked these up at a show last year, can anyone compare the hardware, and general construction on these to known pre 1945 types? They almost feel early postwar but I’m not positive, the ink stamp internally is hard to make anything out on, it might be marked to a rod and gun club or retailer.

    Scope case ink stamp opinions

I came across this scope case, but have terrible luck with ink stamps, and I won’t be home for a few days to flip through Heidler’s book in regards to the legitimacy of WaAD22. It’s in near mint condition, it’s certainly not a repro case, but what of the ink stamp inside, added later, complete...

    Yugoslavian M.95M

I picked this one up last week. As with many types, these are often seen in German service without any apparent depot alterations. Unfortunately it’s missing the enbloc but I couldn’t pass it.

    Sniper pictures

I recently searched through a ton of newspapers for various things, and thought these were some neat pictures. One appears to be a SC.

    Interesting sling usage

I thought these pictures were interesting. I think the slings are simply pulled through and wrapped around to shorten them for shouldering but I don’t recall seeing this practice before.
