That’s part of the issue. If you look closely you will see that the barrel has been replaced. The rivet that holds it in place is not correct. That means that the barrel is a commercial barrel. The contour is different than the Mp-44 series.

The barrel is likely a post war replacement. Caveat emptor.

As a comparison, here are my two. One is kur 43 the other 98E
