    BCD 4 Romanian capture?

Germans never numbered on the side of the buttstock. Romainians/russians/yugoslavians Did it so that you could tell quickly without taking the gun apart that the stock was matched to the rifle. In the case of the romainian "captured" rifles, they more often then not actually do have the...

    BCD 4 Romanian capture?

100% a romainian used rifle. The stock serial number is romainian. Even though it is reminiscent of a yugo stock serial, my romainian ce 41 has a vertical serial aswell.

    G33/40. 945 code 1940

Considering laminate stocks showed up in 1942. We know for a fact the stock doesn't match. Condition reminds me of ones that were imported out of the balkans.

What happened to my 1918 AMBERG?

We need alot more clear photos to be certain. But to me this rifle was cobbled together in the past 30 years using older parts from various rifles.

S/243 1937- need help identifying markings

Now that I couldn't answer. Just quickly checking the picture reference I do not see another mauser berlin reciever with this marking. Possibly a in-house marking used by mauser berlin to denote a special process? Possibly the depot denoting that this receiver was now on its second barrel? I...

S/243 1937- need help identifying markings

Your rifle has a replacement barrel. Most likely replaced by a depot. The barrel blank was made by Dohlen and finished by erma in 1937. Funny it matches the year of the rest of the rifle. Replacement barrels are easily spotted by the 0,2 stamp on the rear most portion of the barrel shank. Barrel...

    Double firing proof reworks

    Double firing proof reworks

Maybe related to defective barrel blank lots. In 42 there was a period they tried to simplify production so some barrel blank codes were left with no lot numbers. From my understanding this lead to issues as entire serial number ranges of rifles had to be rebarraled when a defective barrel was...

What happened to my 1918 AMBERG?

The czech lion you speak of is actually a Bavarian lion. Amberg is in Bavaria. So during the first war they received Bavarian acceptance. Could just be a thrown together rifle post war. Or could be something more interesting. Needs more photos for sure!

XXI Depot Vz24 receiver to 98k conversion on GBroker

I threw in a couple bids, the stock refinish job scared me away. Still a neat rifle for someone.

    1926 dated Kar98b

Rifles that are even in k98b configuration are at least somewhat desirable in my opinion. Regardless of correct markings. Especially if you are just looking for an example that looks the part to fill the hole in-between a gew98 and a k98k collection. Rifle definitely has its issues, but I still...

Dot 1944 missing proof stamp opinions

Possible this one snuck through when the acceptance stamp itself was traded out from being damaged? Early a block 45 rifles have alot of light strikes and uneven looking eagles from what Ive seen.
