Great question. I have several. I look at the abrasion marks on the stock. Production sanding marks are different than post war tampering. I look at wood depth at the stock lug. I look for abrasion marks on the butt plate and stock lug. I smell the stock...LOL...

Wow I have parts of a blown up d block. Somebody sanded the crap out of the stock and the wrist was too thin. Sold it to a guy as a wall hanger. He came back a week later.....fired it in his basement... I don't know how he didn't kill himself. Yes...he was drinking....

Yep Yes they did....they were several of these floating in the 80's at OCGA shows. Not much info on them so it was a lot easier.

Wow Looks like you scored big. That looks like a bcd that is untouched. Do not clean or alter it...Wipe it down. The extractor does not look to be missing. I would not shoot this one... Take some better pics of stock proofs, and receiver SN..and bolt group. Watch for spring when you...
