    Great question. I have several. I look at the abrasion marks on the stock. Production sanding marks are different than post war tampering. I look at wood depth at the stock lug. I look for abrasion marks on the butt plate and stock lug. I smell the stock...LOL...

    Wow I have parts of a blown up d block. Somebody sanded the crap out of the stock and the wrist was too thin. Sold it to a guy as a wall hanger. He came back a week later.....fired it in his basement... I don't know how he didn't kill himself. Yes...he was drinking....
