I found this Forum after buying this rifle and did some research..... so here's better pictures for the Experts, The Stock doesn't feel sanded, and has wood defects. The barrel is marked WaA623 and also marked WaA77 on the side, the bolt surprisingly is marked WaA77 but its worn. The floor plate is marked BYF 135 and the top sight is marked 655 855 and was also made by BYF {Mauser Werke} from my little research they stopped using the 655/855 stamping in 1941. under the sight its marked 599 with an eagle, and has a Z marking. stock band is marked 280 and SN. 0825 with a Eagle, so Erma stock band? The front barrel band is an outlier.... its marked with a much older proof k167 (Mauser oberndorf) and SN 204... I haven't taken the stock off to look under the surface yet.... SO the rifle has full German parts besides the front sight protector, also wasn't Erma making Receivers and barrel bands for SS Rifles?
