Sniper pictures

Are you sure it is K98k and not Gew98 length? Let me know once you got it, keen to learn more of it. And good to know it in a great home now!

From the December 1944 "The European Week" newsreel as seen on the "German WWII Archive" YouTube channel. Stated as mountain troops filmed on the Italian French border

With that large objective bell pretty certain this is an Ajack 4x90 on turret mount. Position of the front scope ring very close to the cone and cylindrical front part with no step in front of the cone would support that.

It`s an Ajack on HT Rifle .

That is a super interesting picture, I am really not sure what to think of it. Rifle seems to be Gew98M length (note no takedown disc in stock and no hole in the side for sling - that sling appears to be attached to the swivel in the grip area, just like the Vz.24 have had it), that scope has the appearance of an IOR scope (from the Romanian Vz.24 sniper). @Amberg @Dave Roberts @RyanE any guesses as to what this rifle is or could be?

I agree that is an IOR scope and the overall features of the rifle are consistent with a vz24!

Thanks to @Madhatter_86 attached an enlarged version of this picture, I also tried to sharpen it.

The more I look at it, it surely looks like a Vz.24 - also has finger grooves. IOR scope also obvious. The mounts look really bulky, but I'm now very certain that this is one of the Romanian Vz.24 sniper rifles, most likely split type and not bracket type mount.

Well, now we also have visual proof for "the other Romanian Vz.24 mount style" being of WWII period too. That is great.
does anyone have a thought about what branch of service the soldats in the photo above are from? I can only see 1 breast eagle (man at left of photo) but all the collar tabs are removed/subdued? Two men are wearing camo smocks (essess?) but I can’t make out any death’s head pins on their covers.

Trying to not post a link to an ongoing auction, but if you search for the term "286488937957" you may also find it ;) and what it says on the backside (where it names the persons visible). And no, that picture does not belong to me. But we possibly need @Amberg to be able to read everything that it says there :D
