Hello everyone,

I'm new to K98's and I have little to no experience with German Mausers. A friend is selling one and I wanted to confirm it's correct I've done a bit of research and am comfortable that rifle is correct. Sold from a trusted source but want to be 150% sure. Thanks in advance for your time and experience! Cheers!

I commented in your Gunboards posting that I thought the lower band, and the floor plate are renumbered. You didn't show the upper band there and that looks to be renumbered. I'm curious about the stock now.

the bolt body numbers don’t look right to me.(gas shield & cocking piece #s do look ok) the floor plate is obvious, lower band numbers don’t look ‘too bad’ , but i can’t come up w/any scenario that would produce that wear pattern other than monkey business. it may look different in hand, but the stock color seems off for an untouched original.

Welcome to the K98k collecting community!

Bands appear ok. Looks like a few factory errors and corrections on this rifle. Stock not sanded but likely overcoated but not a deal killer. I have not seen that type of FP correction before but could be legit. Also another example of bolt SN with letter suffix.

I thought thar the 7's and 8's on the bands looked different than what was on the bolt and barrel.

Got a few more pictures of it that might help, thanks for all the feedback folks! Apologies if some of these pics are repeats.
