I got both of these in a deal with a good friend.
Will add a good picture study later.

First is very late Mauser HSC phosphated example (SN. 949802) with dual tone mag.
2nd is all phosphate late byf44 P38 (Sn. 6892d), with phosphate mag.

Both great pistols. Don’t see as many of the all phosphate P38s vs dual tone. I have only seen a few of the German produced phosphate HScs for sale ever and that looks like a stunner. Congrats!

Very cool... 45 assembled with 44 slide. All phosphate is interesting as Most do have blued barrels pretty much to the end. The HSC is something special for sure !

Here is my HSC. Later than yours.

Likely assembly on the same day or close. I was just looking for a nice HSC and got lucky.

the other set posted has the blued slide but the photos are soooo small its hard to tell.. svw45 p38 have flip flopped blued barrels also .

These are photos I lifted from another site that I posted 13 years ago. It’s phosphate through and through. Will take some when I get home Thursday.
Not sure why they are so small the photos.

P.38 byf44 d blocks is where you see some small unique features on the dual tones. Some are all phosphate, some are lighter color phosphate dual tones (like one of mine is). Off the top of my head, I can’t recall some of the other little things you can see in this letter block from time to time.
