Shrapnel Damaged German Mod VZ24

I got this rifle in a trade off a friend yesterday. He purchased it back in the early 90’s off the brother of the vet who brought it back. Aside from the shrapnel the mods are of interest. Stock plug, removal of rear band side mounted sling swivel. Interestingly the bolt is an imperial armourers bolt. I believe at one point there was electro pencil but is no longer legible. Neither bands nor bottom metal have added German serials. Floor plate is standard Czech. What ever hit this rifle created such a force that it cracked the other side by the lug. Really curious what the channel looks like but will leave as is. I apologize for the lightning it’s been super dreary out.

I assume the bolt is imperial german Gew98, the CS Vz24 rifle was unit marked for depot of 48.Inf.Regiment in Benešov , in war refurbished by germans .

sure looks like a bullet strike, perhaps a ricochet……..
