Turret Mount with Picatinny Top: Vector Optics SCRA-70

Normally I prefer to not discuss modern stuff in here, but was quite amazed for right now seeing what Vector Optics came up with: basically a copy of the High Turret mount, except they replaced the ring on top with a flat picatinny rail, so that one can use whatever scope one wants to use, with your own rings too. This theoretically allows to use any diameter modern scope on a K98k rifle.

As a result to this I was wondering if anyone already has experiences with that mount? They claim it to be all steel. Especially I was wondering on how good it would work with an original WWII High Turret rifle, meaning if I can use a modern day scope on a WWII sniper rifle.

See here what this looks like: https://www.vectoroptics.com/Rails-rings/98K-Steel-Rail-Mount-SCRA-70.html

and

too bad neither is in stock…..the 2nd ones look very much like the accumounts version, in the style of the split ring ‘ears’. When i asked an accumounts CSR on the telephone whether their split ring turret tops would fit on their closed ring bases & vice versa, he told me no. i like those w/rails (didn’t see any ‘country of origin’ for vekt defense version)
i could use those w/ a couple of sig scopes i have….(lighted reticles!)

kinda interesting if you really want to see how accurate your sniper could be w a modern scope.

funny, i was thinkin of buyin a set of 1” redfield rings so i could TEMPORARILY mount a 24x sightron on my 1903a4 just to see how small of groups it could actually shoot, but i felt guilty thinkin about it lol! never bothered.

still might, i shoot cast bullets w light loads and that a4 shines even w the m73b1
