I'm in the market for a Gewehr 98 and am looking for online resources for German war-era examples. I get confused by all the various markings from all these different countries that used these rifles, and want to make sure I can confidently identify a German-used Gew98 to add to my collection. I see the picture reference tab here and it is great. I'm sure I'll be referring to that many times over the course of my search.
If there's other online resources that you use or know that are helpful, feel free to post them here! I'm looking for a pre-war to early war matching, German-used Gew 98. German markings only, no Turkish contracts or the like. I know matching examples are much more expensive, but I'd love to get a nice piece for the collection. I want to educate myself as much as possible before officially stepping into the market!
