Recent purchase. I found this mislabeled on armslist and was able to get the whole rig for basically the price of the pistol alone.

If you are looking for a 1944 rig, then you are looking for a soft shell holster. That means you don’t need the extra magazine to complete the rig.
But, 1944 is by far the most common year for P.38s where you good condition matching P.38 can be had for $800-1100. $1100 any day of the week; $800 if you are patient and constantly hunting.
A 44 soft shell holster should run between $100-175.
I like 1944 P.38s. You can find them in super high condition.
There may be rare exceptions, but every soft-shell P-38 holster I have seen has a spare mag pouch on the front.

I think your are right. I guess I didn’t picture it correctly in my mind, in the moment.
In that case, the spare mag should cost $125 max. So, I figure you can put together a 44 rig for about $1100-1200.
