Have a matched Gebr. Heller '39 S84/98 with its L.B.A.(s) frog and a beautifully tied faustriemen. Under the wrap is a unit mark that appears to be FLHK Gia. Can someone help with the unit, and also the significance of the acorn's color and stripe.
The entire blade is beautifully plum colored and a "g" block.
=edit=
Now believe the city abbrev. is Gie or Gia.
My contact in England told me standard NCO and Fliegerhorst Kompanie (FLHK) an airbase in Giebelstadt, or Gieboldehausen or Giessen (Gie).
