Hello

I have this K98 S/155G. But there are no markings on the frog that i can see. Would like help to understand if that is normal?IMG_2506.jpegIMG_2502.jpegIMG_2504.jpeg

Very nice pair! Though most early, 3rd Reich issue made frogs tend to have some markings, unmarked examples are not uncommon. Often the markings may be minimal or lightly stamped to be almost invisible. Try looking a the reverse side of frog in good light and at different angles to ensure it is unmarked

Thank you! I Will have a closer look although i have had this piece for years.

Outside of your question but as fyi only, the grip scales on your bayonet have been replaced. During this period the S84/98 was equipped with finely fitted and finished hardwood (usually walnut) grip scales. The grips here are of later period phenolic material of a type which are not seen until the middle of 1943.

Thank you. I am aware of that but it looks pretty good anyway 😊
