1937 bayonet, rather rough.

Bayonet my dealer gave me when I got my S/42 1938 Kriegsmarine. He got it for $50 bucks from two crack heads that had walked into his store wondering what they could get for it. If anything stands out let me know. Bayonets are NOT my wheel house by a country mile.

I would nt switch anything as this frog looks for long time on the piece, this had not got the secure strap, the frog is interesting because most real there is unit stamp but the surface is damaged so hard to say it would be deciphered. The Hoerster 37 is matching, should be oiled on blade. I would remove it from scabbard and oil even crosspiece and pommel for few days to stop the rust.

Ok. Thank you :) I'll get it oiled down.

As Andy said.. In addition, attempting to remove a old frog like that has it's own problems, which could result in irreparable damage to the frog stud hole, etc.

Understood. I'll leave it be, feels more natural too since this was how most certainly the crack heads found it imo.

Hey, thank the gods for crackheads and them for not knowing that they have. There are still deals to be had!!! Yup, leave the frog alone and apply a bit of oil. Good save!!
