BCD 45 numbers matching barreled action

Hello I am new to the forum. I recently purchased a K98 with bottom metal all numbers matching barreled action for a custom build. Here is my question it has bcd 45 on top of the action and 4 digit serial number. I don't have the stock or anything else. Just want to make sure I am not destroying something that is rare. Any information or opinions are welcome.

From what I'm hearing I would not customize what you have. You will be ruining it. Plenty of already sporterized actions out there. Love to see photos of what you have!

What are you trying to do with your custom build? I guess if the metal is not otherwise messed with on your rifle, someone may see ti worthwhile to restore it to a military configuration to make an occasional shooter with it. If your build plan involves hacking at the metal, then yea, maybe finding one already hacked up and beyond recovery may be better. At the end of the day, it's not a complete rifle, so no great loss, and it's your rifle and your money, so its all up to you.

My plan is to rebarrel and case color hardening the action after smoothing it out replacing safety to a model 70 Winchester style hinged floor plate and English Walnut stock. How can you determine the numbers are fake sorry not questioning you just trying to educate myself

Check out our picture reference section and compare what you have to other 1945 dated rifles.
