Third Party Press

Double dated ASW

Does the scabbard have some kind of thick silver paint on it? The 3 looks like its from the numeral die set used in 42. Not the same 3 used for the maker in 43. Will have to keep an eye out for other early 43 dates.

Should be compared with other early 43asw pieces but from a doubble date point i see not any problems, by large producers is typical the large blocks of material was fullended in next year, mainly by late war is this typical as the production growed each year.

I like it. A lot. These overstamps are seen occasionally with certain makers, especially the larger producers (as already noted). I've seen more from Eickhorn than any other maker. Kind of unusual for Hörster. Nice piece .....

That's a nice overstamped piece. I only have a mismatched 43 asw in an 43asw scabbard that I sent pics of.It's the serial number of the scabbard that had me wondering what the first character was. I didn't know if it was a C or a broken 0 stamp. What are your thoughts? Also the suffix.

here is not visible both zeros on end of die, it was done by serial mashine and Hoerster is the largest producer, by 0xxx serials is sometimes visible the one side of stamp was not good stamped.
