It appears to be a 42 not 37 but I didn't recognize the initials. I have three of these rifles I'm going to need help IDing but I do believe this one had matching numbers.looks like ya got a JP Sauer and Sohn 1942 year of manufacture 98k. 37 marking on receiver ring appears correct. Does the bolt match serial no. ?
Thank you! I read that quickly and these old rifles certainly is not my wheel house. Are there other markings or stamp I should look for? and What is the value on something like this, most numbers are matching with the exception of the bolt release lever and the wood stock. The barrel itself only has one eagle stamp and no other marking, is this normal?Yes, the year of manufacture is 1942, but the e/37 final acceptance on the receiver top is correct for a JPS assembled piece. That's the '37' he's talking about.
