Hi I’m new to the forum and K98 collecting.
I have an opportunity to purchase a ce 44 marked K98. The laminate stock is duffel cut. I see no import marks on it. From what I understand after looking through the forum is that this rifle is a mid to early late rifle perhaps .The stock has a flat butt plate not cupped and it looks like it was stamped Not sure if that’s correct. It seems like a lot of the serial numbers do not match. It does have an original sling but it is missing the cleaning rod sight hood and front barrel band spring. I will try to include some pictures albeit not the greatest. I know I’ll have to get more pictures. They are asking 800 for this rifle. Is this a pass or keeper based on your wealth of knowledge and experience of the firearms.
