After a couple of years, I finally have a Mauser made K98 again. I traded my 1916 Danzig stock MM Gew98 for it...I've had that rifle 26 years and it was hard to let it go. Some interesting observations about this one: NLB for one, hardwood stock for two, and a late war round hole e/63 DOT bolt. Bore is a little rough and about 2/3 finish remains....this piece saw a bit of use. Sling is a well-used reproduction with an original frosch. cleaning rod is unfortunately a reproduction.
Question: What kind of wood? Oak, Elm, or Walnut?
