L27 Suppressor - Authentic?

Forum Newbie
Hello,

i was asked to give my opinion to this nice item.

It is (or should be) a German WW2 suppressor, model L27. The design is based on captured Russian BRAMIT suppressors, but converted to a "clamp mount". It works with two rubber baffles that will wear down over time.
A big disadvantage of this construction is the fact, that you have to use special subsonic ammunition. "Normal" one will destroy the device.

So, I took my time to review this nice piece of steel and in the end I gave my opinion.

Here are a bunch of pics. What do you think?

The two-digit number of this device is covered by sticky tape, it doesn't really matter to come t a conclusion I think. The two black plastic pieces are made by me, they replace the rubber plugs.

The small sign that's shown is

The first try to stamp the suppressor is a little bit to the right.

As you can see, the suppressor fits to my MP43.

I will write my opinion to this item later. Have a look and comment please.

Really? No one is interested i this topic? No one wants to guess or share some ideas?

Ok. I think it is fake.

The Germaans didn't stamp suggested sight settings for it? I know the Soviets marked the BraMit with range settings.

BTW, yours are the best images I've seen of the German adaption. The Finns also copied it but it attached via the bayonet lug.

As far as I know they had markings in he first batches of production Later they saved the working time and skipped the markings.

Thank you ;-)

Do you have any kind of source or pictures?

Give me a day to get you a picture of a picture here of the Finnish copy. I'd like all the members to see it. Why a day? It takes that long for the I-potato-phone to send an image to my email. Signal is weak and we generally have only one bar. Even when I climbed to the top of the ridge (7k ft) it's still only one bar.

May I have your permission to reproduce your images for another book? PM me your name so I can give photo credits.

I have seen an bunch of this in the late 1980s in austria- there where also the flashiders fot the StgW and MP 40 avaible. Some weeks later he had also Rifle grenade devices for the GGP/40......
All of these stuff had bnz markings.
The guy who sold them had three lathe's in his garage.

Told you it would take a day for the email to get through. The book is Finnish Mosin-Nagants from WetDog Publications. Note the middle image in the photo. Like the Soviet BraMit, range settings are roll stamped into the body.

@Mikegermany
Thank you for this really interesting information.

Over time I got some "hints" and "guesses" from various people, that there were some fellas who built this rare stuff.
(hahaha when I wrote this, @Blackpowderresearcher posted one name - what a coincidence ;-) )

@Blackpowderresearcher
Thak you for this interesting picture. I will have a look for more information. I will tell when I make one and put some pics in here as well.
