Some cool German captured SVT40, and SVT38 photographs. I purchased these original photographs from an author. He posted these photos in one of his books on German field gear. He was selling quite a few really neat captured photos. Hoping to buy more from him in the future. Still neat though. Plus we all love German captured stuff anyway.

Thanks Jordan.

One of the nice matching SVT.40s I had back in the day was a US vet bringback from France.

Always made me chuckle that the master race ended up favoring weapons from the people they looked down upon and the G/K43 gas system was based off the SVT40. Goes to show in a combat situation all that political crap takes a backseat while the need for reliable and better weapons takes priority. One can safely say these men that used captured weapons were truly knee deep “in the shite”

It's really nothing more than an acknowledgment of capability. Look at the photos of US Army troops in Belgium and German using StG-44s/MP-43s late in the war, or US SOF (notably MACV-SOG) in Vietnam using AKs, or cut-down RPDs to create a Stoner or SAW length weapon that really had no corollary in the US arsenal at the time.
