Sporterized BNZ 45 - 4788 T

Picked this up on consignment earlier today, was going to be sent to the police to be destroyed but the fella decided to try and sell the guns his grandpa had instead.

Unfortunately sporterized but what's left is quite nice, the safety is stuck so I can't remove the firing pin to verify if it matches. All visible numbers do match however, likely a bringback rifle. The floorplate and trigger guard also appear correct and the screws are surprisingly unmolested.

The bore is quite shiny too, I tried to get a picture but it just shines to bright for the camera to catch much.

I'd be interested in getting a proper kriegsmodell stock and bands for the rifle to make it a little more presentable, if anyone has a lead on the parts it'd be very much appreciated.

If any more photos are needed I will be happy to provide them. It's nice to finally add a good crude late war rifle to the collection, something rough around the edges.

This is a sporter that most would be glad to have! Someday I’ll pick one up and keep it as-is to represent this one way that they come down to us. Nice find!!

I couldn't resist taking it apart. Looks like the stock is the original stock as well, marked WaA625 in the channel of the stock, quite faint and impossible to see in the photo, but it's there if you squint.

Rudolf showed me this earlier, nice snag! No final acceptance on the top of the receiver either, and nice late svw FP

NICE. Unfortunately, there are more bnz45 rifles that need stocks than there are loose stocks. Keep your eyes peeled!
I have to agree with this unfortunately. I also 'rescued' a sporter t block with an odd sized laminate stock that was done dirty similar to yours. Big rubber p*ssy pad out back and about half the lumber belt sanded away. It's a shame really, but I couldn't let it go to another fate.
