I just received a 8mm mauser from my uncle and was wondering if anyone could help me identify it. I've searched the boards here and can't find anything like mine.

Couldn't tell you a thing from those pics, except it appears to be a sporterized 98k...
 
It's a late dot (Brunn 1) Czech made piece in the am block using an earlier receiver with what appears to be e/26 acceptance on the receiver right. Too bad it's been worked over postwar.
 
'Swept back' serial number was the 1st clue for me. dot/13 shield, EZ steel lot was the rest of the information.

Looks to have been buffed, reblued and stock sanded and coated with some clear poly maybe? Sight base added on top of receiver?
 
How about pics of all markings/stampings on receiver and barrel. Stock looks like it has 5 coats of polyurethane
 
Is there anything else you need to see fpr any more information?

An overall shot for some perspective of its current state and as said above, clear photos of any marks remaining. That will help determine how much is still original.

Welp... how's it shoot? On the plus side, it looks fairly well executed and not one of Bubba's garage builds.

What does 'swept back ' mean ?
 
Here's a thread with 2 examples of the 'salvaged receiver' builds dot utilized late in the war. Yours would have looked similar when it left the factory.

Looking at your newer photos closer it appears this is NOT a salvage receiver build. The 1944 peaking out under the scope base is what I'm basing that off. Earlier I thought the receiver right had 2 eagle/26 acceptance marks but I think they're probably e/63 x 2. Sorry about that, but your piece still would have looked like these. Probably better it's NOT a salvage receiver build being it's so sporterized.

Wow she was a beautiful piece at one time. I've been looking for a better way to mount the scope but most use the factory rear sight pin. And mine is gone.
