Picked up this 44 JWH French factory made Seitengewehr at a local gun show last week. All matching, original finish, unsharpened, all Waffenamts intact, nice mounted frog that is unmarked. Upon purchasing I was not aware of how rare the code was and had left my reference book at home, however I still thought it was a pretty nice pick up for $200. Just thought I’d share!

Looks like a nice piece of late 1944, question is the pommel and scabbard was cleaned from rust? as visible some traces there, maybe is partly a new blueing added on these parts? but not detailed visible on dark background. Certainly a very nice price for similar late war jwh.

Very nice catch! I had found one at a flea market in south western France last year, but missing the scabbard.
 
very nice.. Had the bought the complete run from a member here. Its interesting they kept with the date on the spine of the blade where the rest moved it along the side with the code. Its the little things..

It is and prices are pretty high, especially on EEPay! I personally don’t mind picking up nice ones that have no scabbard but even those are pricey!
