This flag came out of a Members of the Tin Hat veterans hall in Springs, South Africa.
It is huge. Roughly 14’ by 23’.
Based on my research, it’s the second largest surviving flag. Theres on larger battle ship flag known.
And there’s longer banners, for for flag style…this seems like the penultimate flag.
It could be from a ship, or harbour as these were flown in size there but also, the dimensions of circle to red seems to correspond with aerial recognition flag as well. But it’s speculation. Maybe an HQ banner or a party building. Maybe someone knows more.
Regardless it’s almost certainly an Afrika or Italy capture. Shows signs of use.
Just an impressive bale of cloth.
