Bluing Wear

Recently purchased a mauser that i believe tk be a Romanian/Balkan capture. It's missing the sight hood and cleaning rod, and I purchased replacements, but I wanted to artificially wear them to match the gun. Would anyone be kind enough to send images of their sight hoods/cleaning rods so I can recreate an accurate wear pattern?

Well, not sure there are wear patterns (on hoods) but rather toning and fading with age. Rods, again some toning and some wear from in/out & getting screwed in and contact with the throat & bayo lug.

I see. I was wondering as the one I have is very worn, and I was curious about if there were clear wear patterns that happened from intact examples i.e. wear on the edges of the hood

Carrying small parts around in your pocket for a while will give the blue kind of a natural wear.
That would worked for the sight hood, but unfortunately I've already wedged it on the rifle and would rather not pull it back off. I'm more interested in how the rear parts would've worn from use, rather than ways to mimic it

I'm aware, I meant moreso as what patterns would've been worn into the parts. Like how pocket clips outside of pockets commonly wear around the corners and edges

Unfortunately it appears many of the rifles there are missing their sight hood aswell, but I greatly appreciate you linking that. I shall look through them for pictures that fit my needs. Thank you very much
