German WW2 Signaling Devise??

This one is a mystery... A friend brought this over tonight. He got it from a guy who purchased it from a ww2 vet estate. He stated it was a German WW2 era trip signaling devise. I did some googling and found absolutely nothing to back his claim. It is made of aluminum and has no markings whatsoever. The top pin is the striking mechanism, a string is attached to the pull pin so once force is applied to the string the pull pin comes out and the pin strikes the primer of the munition that is placed in the body. The paint looks German, however that's as far as I got. haha

Have any of you guys ever came across one of these? Is it German or something else?

Thanks!!

Rick

Any marking on it? Virtually every item made for the German military had a code and date. Just as a example of a known wartime trip device.IMG_5875.jpegIMG_5874.jpeg

No it does not have any markings whatsoever. That is what had me questioning it. I wonder if it could be period but just from another country? Is that a possibility? It looks completely different from yours.
